Bloodbath

Yesterday was a dark day at IW. There was only a little bit of life and hope left. Some Serbs and a Spanish dude that I flove with all my heart had to something with that. Let’s see what happened. I will start like always with the good news.

Rafa cruised against Ancic winning, 62 62. Good to have Mario back and happy that he lost *Merciless KAD* Also good news; Rafa knows how fugly his shorts are and said that he will be only wearing them this week. Rafa, next time ask for a sample of the finished product, not just the sketches. Sometimes things on paper look better than in person, this is one of those cases.

The good news about Nole is that he won. The bad news, he keeps playing like shit. He beat Kohls 63 26 76(3). He saved like 3 MPs, not sure since I was totally frazzled and pissed. Nole save some of that shitty play if you play Rafa in the semis. Kthxbye.

I had to post this pic. I’m still cracking up, it’s just so JJ. Well she won, but she also played like shit. She beat Errani, 26 76(6) 64.  Her serve was crap, I know her serve is not the best but  this was too much. Where is her awesome backhand down the line? I think I saw it somewhere but it landed in the doubles alley.

Now to the bloodbath of players that I like or love. Here is the victims list.

Nando, Oh Nando. He got trashed by Berdy,60 63. Yep, that’s a bagel. WTF Nando? Sigh.

Vika WTF happened? Sigh. She lost to Martinez Sanchez in straights,76(4) 62.

Bella Flavi lost to Peer,64 67(4) 61. This one is more for Emma than for me.  Sorry, vitch.

Kim lost to Kleybs. Kleybs!!! It seems Klebs likes to beat nice girls that are slam champions. You’re not Ana, Kim!! The score 64 16 76(4) and that last set TB was a total WTF? I still don’t know what went on.

Juanqui lost to Pico,76(2) 36 63. I hate when players that I like meet so early at a tourney. I love Pico but I kind of love Juanqui more, it’s the Spanish thing. I’m okay with this loss. I will give a couple of reasons. Juanqui has won a couple of titles and Pico needed it more. The most important reason? We where left with this:

Hotness and eternally hard nipples. YUM!

Hit For Haiti: Vid Spam

Some kind soul already downloaded the whole thing on You Tube.  The quality is not that great but better than nothing. For those who missed it or want to see it again, this is for you. There are six parts and it’s quite long. Enjoy.

Hit for Haiti event full to the brim of epic win

Some of the best players in the world played a hastily yet brilliantly organised exho to raise funds for the Haiti relief effort in Melbourne on Sunday. Federer, Rafa, Nole, RAndy, Lleyton, Kimmy, ReRe, Slammin Sammy and even Bernard Tomic hit the courts for the worthy cause. Jim Courier acted as chair umpire.

The whole thing brought major LOLz, as the players wore microphones and provided LOLarious commentary.

ReRe and Federer, who were joined on Team Red by Sam and Lleyton.

Some of the quotes from the players had me literally LMAO. I loved this gem from RAndy after he got called for a foot fault: “Did you seriously just call me on a foot fault in a charity match? Oh come on! You don’t wanna do that, Serena’s over there!” XD

Kimmy (who groped Rafa’s thigh the lucky biatch), Rafa, Nole and RAndy were Team Blue. I prefer to think of them as Team Rad though.

Another awesome quote: “You have a sweet touch” – Nole to Rafa after the latter towelled Nole’s fine ass. Win.

Possibly my fave moment from the part with Team RafAndy doubs? Rafa: “Who will serve? Who has better chance of winning the game?” RAndy: “Uh, I’ll serve.” So qt!

Rafole chestbump. 100% pure sex.

Rafole doubs was epic. Yet more proof that they should do it for reals at an actual tournie. Rafa acting all down in the dumps and Nole comforting him was amazeballs. Rafa: “How should I serve now? I have no confidence!” Nole: “I’m here for you Rafa. Vamos.” *dies from the fangirl overload* Also? Rafa being adorbz after missing his first serve; “I don’t wanna show off my new serve yet”. Gah.  After the chestbump, Rafa’s mic had gotten tangled. He took his time fixing it, and when he was done, Federer brought the LOLz with “Rafa, vamos a playa?”  Nice.

Rafa and the event organiser, Roger Federer.

It’s pretty obvious that we here at HSM aren’t exactly big Fedfans. But we give him full credit for organising this. It’s a credit to him. So good for you, TMD. Much love.

Now that the awkward bit is outta the way; Rafa and Federer’s interaction was priceless.  At one point during a match, Rafa hit a beautiful curving forehand. ReRe had wanted to challenge, but Rafa, clearly proud, was having none of it. “Thats the one, that’s the one.” “We’ll challenge anyways” “C’mon Rog, you know I love the banana”. LOL! And Federer’s gem: “Hawkeye doesn’t work anyways!”  His Hawkeye hate cracks me up.

Overall, the event was a roaring success, with over $200,000 raised for the cause. Kudos to Masha who chipped in $10,000 as well. Major applause for the players involved, you are a credit to tennis.

The WTA Saviors

You know that’s what you’re going to hear everywhere. Just like old times. Kim and JuJu met in a final that makes you go all warm and fuzzy inside. It was 2 hours and 24 minutes of great tennis and momentum swings, that finished in a 3rd set TB with both ladies saving match points.  Kim saved 2 mps, while JuJu saved 3. Kim started strong taking a 4-1 lead that she almost choked away, but still won the 1st set, 6-3. Then JuJu started to play like her old self and won the 2nd set, 6-4. In the 3rd set JuJu started strong with a 3-0 lead but Kim rallied back, making it 3-3. She gave Juju mps in the 10th game, but Kim stayed strong and held her nerve. Juju was able to push it to a TB, which Kim won, 7-6(6). Kim’s AO chances are looking really good.

Warning: Pic Spam ahead.

 Obligatory Jada pic. So cute.

Pure Class.

Yeah, Yeah. You Get Your Dream Final.

I expected so much more from this match, but this IS the WTA after all. The match was crap. Crap, I tell you. Anita played like shit, and so did JuJu. The small moments of brilliance from Juju won her the match. The “OMFG I’m playing Justine Henin” virus that Ana had was another big factor. I like Justine, I really do- but I wanted Ana to win. (FIX THAT BALL TOSS ANA!) If the fellow Ana fans or Justine haters want to rant and hate go ahead, use the comments for it. That’s what we’re here for.

In the other semi, Kim won her match against Petkovic. I didn’t see the match, so I can’t really comment on it. From what I’ve seen from Kim this week, she has looked great. So, people will get the all-Belgian final that they have been praying for since they first saw that the old rivals were playing Brisbane.  Justine vs. Kim, just like old times. Bring it!

On the ATP, they played the 2 quarter-finals that were left. Dick beat Richie- sad face. But regardless, Brisbane was a good tournament for Richie. Andy will play the winner of the other quarter-final, Berdy.

He beat one of my weird ATP crushes Thomaz Bellucci. I was kind of surprised that Thomaz made it this far. He usually sucks on hard-courts. The dude is a clay-courter all the way. Good result for him.

Don’t worry bb, the South American clay-court swing is just around the corner.

Kim Serves Up A Bagel

Another day of play is over in Brisbane. On the WTA side, Kim keeps kicking ass and giving out baked products. She beat Alicia Molik 6-0, 6-3 and she’s looking good for the AO.

Anita played the evening session. The bad news: her ball toss is still crap. The good news: she beat Timea Bacsinszky in 3 sets 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. This is the first time since June 2009 that’s she’s won 2 straight matches. Also, is her first quarterfinal since Indian Wells. So, YAY! (but work on that ball toss Ana).

On the ATP side, the only upset was Sammy Q losing to Blah in 3 sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.  Also, Gael kept falling down and being hilarious. He played Dent and won in 3 sets, 7-6 (7-1), 6-7 (5-7), 6-2.

It seems Gael called the trainer- playing on a hard court like it’s a clay court sure doesn’t help your health.
